What do I need to use AI Photo IQ? Link to heading

You’ll need:

  • A Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later
  • An Amazon Web Services (AWS) account with an S3 bucket
  • A MongoDB Atlas account (free tier works)
  • An Anthropic API key for Claude AI

Does the app access my full Photos library? Link to heading

No. AI Photo IQ uses Apple’s photo picker, which only gives the app access to photos you explicitly select. It never browses or modifies your Photos library.

Where are my credentials stored? Link to heading

All credentials (AWS keys, MongoDB connection string, Claude API key) are stored in your macOS Keychain — the same secure storage your Mac uses for passwords. They are never sent to us or stored anywhere else.

Can I define my own metadata fields? Link to heading

Yes. AI Photo IQ lets you create custom fields for any use case. The AI prompt automatically adapts to extract the fields you define.

What image formats are supported? Link to heading

JPEG and HEIC. You can choose your preferred export format in the Setup tab.
